No See Um Lodge
While their fishing program centers around the rainbow fishery of the greater Iliamna drainage, guests at the No See Um Lodge also have ample opportunity to fish for arctic char, dolly varden, grayling, and all five species of pacific salmon (though rarely are all species available during any single week). The lodge strives to have one guide for every two anglers and ypically jet powered aluminum John boats are used for transportation on the various system. At times anglers will fish from the boats, but the majority of fishing is done while wading.
No See Um Lodge Accommodations:
The lodge has several duplex and triplex cabins all with private baths and a shared sitting area with a full complimentary bar. Meals are served in the main building overlooking the Kvichak River.
No See Um Lodge Travel:
You will need to make your travel arrangements to Anchorage and then on to King Salmon. Most guests prefer to overnight in Anchorage. Alaska Airlines, Pennisula Airways, and Reeve Aleutian Airlines all serve King Salmon from Anchorage. You should plan to arrive in King Salmon near noon, as that is when the floatplanes from No See Um will transport you to the lodge. Your departure flight from King Salmon should also be planned for as near noon as possible. Earlier departure flights are possible but dependent on safe flying weather. It is suggested that you keep in mind that weather delays are always possible.
No See Um Lodge Climate:
The weather in Southwest Alaska is highly variable. Anglers should always come prepared for cold rainy conditions, especially early and late in the season. Typical daytime temperatures range from 45-70 degrees.
No See Um Lodge Clothing:
Typical fishing clothing consists of synthetic long underwear, fleece jacket and pants, hooded sweatshirt, and a good fishing rain jacket. Fingerless gloves are nice for cold mornings, and bring along a warm hat for early and late season fishing. For those that are particularly uncomfortable with biting insects, pack along a mosquito headnet if visiting during the first half of the season. Dress at the lodge is always informal.
