The Lower Sacramento:
This is an exceptional year-round river that has gained national recognition as one of the most prolific tailwater fisheries in the nation. Fishing is done largely from drift boats for plump wild rainbows that average 16 inches and sometimes exceed 24 inches.

Upper Sac, McCloud, and Pit:
These are the state’s premier freestone streams where the water runs fast and furious through rugged country. All trips are
walk-and-wade and are best suited to sure-footed anglers. With the exception of the Upper Sac, which is now open year-round, these rivers fish from late April through November 15 and provide some of the nation’s best short-line nymphing as well as periods of exceptional dry fly activity.

The Trinity:
Arguably the state’s most productive stream for adult summer steelhead on the fly, the Trinity fishes from September through mid-March. Though large enough to float, the majority of fishing on the Trinity is done while wading. While nymph fishing is very popular, there is ample opportunity to swing flies and even learn the art of Spey casting during your trip.

The Feather:
While admittedly not the most scenic river in the state, the Feather has a stunning run of steelhead that can be fished from both the boat and the bank. From mid-October through early December, it is a hard fishery to beat for high catch rates.
